Fort Worth Weddings at Whiskey Ranch – Fort Worth Gay Weddings
Ranch Revival: Acclaimed Fort Worth artisan distillery Firestone & Robertson has opened a spectacular visitor center that’s perfect for whiskey-infused weddings.
Joining the ranks of spirited venues with distinctively scenic settings, Firestone & Robertson’s new Whiskey Ranch (817-840-9140), which opened in late 2017 and is a 10-minute drive southeast of downtown Fort Worth, is more than the largest distillery west of the Mississippi—it’s also a magnificent place to get hitched.
F&R, which began turning heads in 2012 with its mellow TX Whiskey blend, upped the ante in late 2016 by releasing its dark, satiny TX Bourbon, which took some five years to produce and age. Both spirits have become popular as the foundations for custom cocktails. Needing room to grow, the distillery acquired the 112-acre former Glen Garden Country Club, famous as the course where golf legends Ben Hogan and Byron Nelson learned the game as young caddies, and has designed a stunning complex that includes the distillery, tasting room, and event spaces.
Whiskey Ranch imparts a luxurious yet rustic feel, its buildings liberally adorned with repurposed woods and corrugated metals, along with Texas limestone. Inside the Ranch House, natural light floods the giant Oak Room, which is outfitted with a massive fireplace and iron chandeliers; it’s perfect for parties of 150 to 200 and opens onto an expansive deck with more fireplaces and views of the rolling golf course and lake. Just beyond the adjacent Tavern, the view westward across the wedding site and a ledge of treetops takes in the Fort Worth skyline. Cottages for overnight guests are the among offerings planned for the future.
